Giving at JHCS

Your Gift Supports our Mission: make an impact today!

The Community Fund is the school's unrestricted fund. All independent schools are faced with the need to make up the difference between expenses and tuition. Contributions to the Community Fund help to close this gap and have an immediate impact on all academic programs and ongoing operational priorities including:
  • attracting and retaining a talented, experienced faculty and staff
  • providing financial aid for a socioeconomically diverse community of students
  • Expanding our experiential learning programming
  • Professional development and speakers in social and emotional learning
The Annual Appeal is the yearly campaign for gifts to JHCS. We ask that every family prioritize the school in their annual giving, either with a gift to the Community Fund, which supports our most immediate operating expenses, or to one of our endowments in order to ensure our long-term sustainability.

The Alumbra Innovations Foundation Endowment was established in 2018 from a generous gift by AIF to establish a fund for financial aid. JHCS founders Scott Hirschfield and Kathleen Crowley shared the vision that JHCS mirror the wider local communities of which our students are a part—a vision that remains a key priority for the JHCS Board of Directors, who work to ensure that the school remains accessible to any student who might benefit from a JHCS education.

The Cumming Foundation Endowment was established in 2011 with a gift to the school by the late Ian Cumming that was intended to ensure the school's long-term operational sustainability and educational excellence. This endowment provides support for school programs, including but not limited to curriculum and experiential education, advisory, and student support.

As families and alumni know, our dedicated faculty are our most valuable asset. Your gifts enable JHCS to attract and retain an outstanding faculty who work tirelessly to expand the breadth and depth of our curriculum, to support our students while challenging them academically, and to continue their professional development and pedagogical innovation—the hallmarks of a JHCS education and a margin of educational excellence not afforded by tuition alone.

The 2025 Old Bill’s Giving Season runs from August 8 through Friday, September 12, 2025 at 5PM. Thank you so much for your support of our school! Your gifts have tremendous impact on our faculty and students.
Kicking off our annual giving is the community-wide Old Bill’s Fun Run. Participation in OBFR builds our community and our connection to people and place, and offers a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to participate in giving. Additionally, our participation in this event allows the Jackson Hole Community School access to the generous match made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill and the Co-Challengers and organized by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.

Amplifying our fundraising efforts through the community match is a terrific opportunity for JHCS to build our fundraising dollars by leaving no funds on the table. Each year our goal is to meet or exceed the $30,000 minimum that is necessary in order to receive the community match. For more on Old Bill's and to understand the match, visit the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole Website.

Community is the backbone of all that we believe in at JHCS, and Old Bill’s provides a terrific learning opportunity for our students to apply their experience of community and generosity toward others outside our walls. As they navigate the world and head out on their own, we want each student to understand the value of community participation and the impact made by supporting others.

To make a donation on behalf of JHCS, visit this page in August 2024.
