Giving at JHCS

What Does Giving Look Like at JHCS?

The Annual Appeal is the cornerstone fundraising effort at Jackson Hole Community School. Gifts made through this campaign are unrestricted and constitute the majority of the Community Fund, which helps us meet our annual operating budget.
Gifts made to the Annual Appeal provide the support we need to further develop the incredible community experience that many of you know to be foundational to a JHCS education. As we enter our nineteenth year, we continue to foster curiosity and challenging academics in our classrooms, in our shared spaces, and beyond the walls of our building. Your gifts enable us to attract and retain an outstanding faculty who work to expand the breadth and depth of our curriculum, maintain our commitment to low student-teacher ratios, and sustain the operation and maintenance of our facilities.

As is customary with most independent schools, tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a JHCS education. The Annual Appeal bridges the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual expense of educating each student. By reducing the need for fundraising through events, the Annual Appeal enables us to focus on educating our students: student enrichment, innovative academic programming, experiential education, and excellence in teaching benefit directly from contributions to the Annual Appeal.

We are so grateful to our generous community that supports the mission of JHCS. While we invite you to participate in any of our fundraising programs, we ask that all parents and constituents contribute to the Annual Appeal. The Annual Appeal helps JHCS grow from its roots. Every gift above the gap funds aspirational projects, curricular advancements, and continuing teacher education that equip us to better serve our students each year. In sum, your gifts provide the funds necessary for the program enhancements and projects needed to maintain our tradition of educational excellence—a margin of excellence not afforded by tuition alone.
As you plan your philanthropic giving each year, we hope you will situate JHCS as a priority. Your gift, no matter the size, has a direct impact on JHCS’ continued excellence and makes a difference in the lives of our students by empowering their future, not only in college, but in life.

The 2024 Old Bill’s Giving Season runs from August 9 through Friday, September 13, 2024 at 5PM. Thank you so much for your support of our school! Your gifts have tremendous impact on our faculty and students.
Kicking off our annual giving is the community-wide Old Bill’s Fun Run. Participation in OBFR builds our community and our connection to people and place, and offers a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to participate in giving. Additionally, our participation in this event allows the Jackson Hole Community School access to the generous match made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill and the Co-Challengers and organized by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.

Amplifying our fundraising efforts through the community match is a terrific opportunity for JHCS to build our fundraising dollars by leaving no funds on the table. Each year our goal is to meet or exceed the $30,000 minimum that is necessary in order to receive the community match. For more on Old Bill's and to understand the match, visit the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole Website.

Community is the backbone of all that we believe in at JHCS, and Old Bill’s provides a terrific learning opportunity for our students to apply their experience of community and generosity toward others outside our walls. As they navigate the world and head out on their own, we want each student to understand the value of community participation and the impact made by supporting others.
