The Annual Appeal is the yearly campaign for gifts to JHCS. We ask that every family prioritize the school in their annual giving, either with a gift to the
Community Fund, which supports our most immediate operating expenses, or to one of our endowments in order to ensure our long-term sustainability.
The Alumbra Innovations Foundation Endowment was established in 2018 from a generous gift by AIF to establish a fund for financial aid. JHCS founders Scott Hirschfield and Kathleen Crowley shared the vision that JHCS mirror the wider local communities of which our students are a part—a vision that remains a key priority for the JHCS Board of Directors, who work to ensure that the school remains accessible to any student who might benefit from a JHCS education.
The
Cumming Foundation Endowment was established in 2011 with a gift to the school by the late Ian Cumming that was intended to ensure the school's long-term operational sustainability and educational excellence. This endowment provides support for school programs, including but not limited to curriculum and experiential education, advisory, and student support.
As families and alumni know, our dedicated faculty are our most valuable asset. Your gifts enable JHCS to attract and retain an outstanding faculty who work tirelessly to expand the breadth and depth of our curriculum, to support our students while challenging them academically, and to continue their professional development and pedagogical innovation—the hallmarks of a JHCS education and a margin of educational excellence not afforded by tuition alone.
